R. N. Morris har tagit Petrovich och gjort honom till huvudperson i en serie historiska deckare, som utspelar sig i St Petersburg på 1860-talet.
På våra bibliotek finns titeln
A vengeful longing, där en kvinna och hennes son giftmördas. Fredsdomaren Porfiry Petrovich får hand om fallet och han bistås av den nyutbildade Pavel Pavlovich, som är hans lärling. Den mördades make verkar vara den mest logiska kandidaten för huvudmisstänkt, men Petrovich är känd för att tänka annorlunda. Snart får Petrovich och Pavlovich in ett nytt fall och Petrovich misstänker att de två fallen hänger ihop.
Men att lösa mordfall är inte bara att samla ledtrådar. Det är också att navigera den labyrint som stadsapparaten är i Ryssland 1868. Pusselbitarna verkar falla på plats, men lite för enkelt tycket Petrovich. Pavlovich däremot vet inte vad han ska tro.
För den som är van att läsa böcker som utsplear sig i den anglosaxiska litteraturvärlden, är
A vengeful longing väldigt annorlunda. För även om boken är skriven av en brittisk författare, är referensramarna, kontexten och idévärlden är helt annorlunda. Det är både spännande och frustrerande.

There is a film entitled "Pandaemonium" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0210217/) about the life of British poet/philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Might it be possible for your acquisitions department to purchase the film for the library?

look for a button labeled "Inköpsförslag". It'll ask you to log in with your librarycard number and PIN. Then you simply write in the information you have on your suggestion in the textfields, click 'OK' and it's done.

Adding links to 'Inköpsförslag' and after hours services are good ideas. As you can see though, the right column of the blog is getting pretty long. There is a lot of information that we'd like to include, but we can't have everything. The library webpage should be out and functioning sometime this spring and some of this information might be better suited there.

I'll bet you could get the ONE LINK to Fråga Biblioteket (http://www.fragabiblioteket.se/ ) in the categories section of this blog sidebar without seriously disrupting the layout of the blog. "Sometime this spring" is not the best rebuttal against putting up a vital link to off-hour reference resources. Besides, as you will see, "referens" fits in nicely in the column below.
